CSS? I must be a noob or something, I have no idea what CSS means... foolish me.
Just wanted to say, I love your journal header and footer. Particularly the header. It's so cute and pastelish. I never thought I'd see a drawing "on" lined paper that I'd like. XD
CSS is a bit like html, only it's used to stylise your page... hmmm like... to set a background color and text color.... *snickers* I'm so bad at explaining things.
And thanks! The little boy on my header (yea, that's him, twice) is my 'mascott' he's -everywhere- he's the funny thing I draw when I feel down, I call him Sotha (which means 'little wings' in some old dialect i can't remember).
And I seriously have NO idea why I added that 'lined' paper effect XD
And yeah, I have a similar mascot. Finley - you've probably seen him around my gallery. Though he's a little older and more psychotic than your mascot, I think. XD
Oh XD My "baby" can be a real bitch (don't worry I don't think he's alive, he's just part of a story XD) he likes to drive his legal tutor to the merge of craziness and then does something incredibly cute so nobody can be mad a him .
Finley, heh? That's such a crazy name :3 I love it!
I'm going to browse around to find him, gotta love the psycho boys <3!
Heee.... I treat my characters the exact same way, and frequently talk about them as if they were alive. It's terrible... ah well! I am at least relatively sane! XD
Finley is the guy with the ducks. Also the guy covered in blood in "Not His Blood", also the guy in black and white drinking beer... and in about ten other pictures, I'm sure. He's a twenty-seven year old illiterate alcoholic serial killer with an immense chip on his shoulder about his height (he's only five foot seven) and his relative importance in the world (he's not really important to anyone, at all... but that's understandable really, since he's a sociopath and can't emotionally relate to or care about anyone...).
So uhm... yeah. I'm afraid he's a wee bit.... horrible. >_> I don't know why I'm so fond of making horrible characters. I like how broken they are, it fascinates me.
I also have a fascination with deeply unstable characters, they're even more interesting when you have done researchs on their "sickness" or mental issues. Nothing makes me happier than giving a solid background to -any- characters I create, as unimportant as they may be. I believe people NOTICE it when a character is 'lifeless' and only there to be a 'pretty' decoration. Besides, the real fun in writing is creating a complete world in which your 'favorite' characters live. A world's not only made of stone and trees, society is a big part of it, don't you think? XD
Oh, absolutely. Stories are always about people, when you get right down to it. And stories are also a form of communication that we wouldn't have without society and language... once upon a time we told stories to teach. So I think they always have to reflect actual society in some sense or another, whether than is alien to our own experiences or not. Society - the way the world ticks and turns - is immensely important to any story, because it would affect every character that grew up there... and it really does show when a writer's put the effort in on that front, too.
